IMYC teacher of the year

IMYC Teacher of the Year: Peter Tunna!

We are incredible proud of all our teachers and this year we got to celebrate one in particular: our very own Peter Tunna who has been with us for 10 years. This year he teaches Year 4 and Year 7 as well as being our Curriculum Leader.

We asked Peter how it feels to be the IMYC teacher of the Year:

"To become the first ever winner of the International Curriculum Association’s IMYC teacher of the Year award is a true honour and the privilege of a lifetime. It is also testament to the fantastic teaching and learning that goes on every day at NGG and I am certain a many number of staff could have become the recipient of this award. NGG prides itself as being a leader in offering cutting edge, future orientated learning and this award solidifies our belief that the education we provide is not only at the forefront of Danish education but also on the world stage. I am so happy to have been able to represent Denmark and gain this award on the world stage for the country that has been my home for the last 10 years."

In this picture Peter is being welcomed back from the annual ICA World Conference in Malaysia by Principal Thomas Thrane and Head of NIS Joakim Philipsen.

A big congratulations to Peter Tunna, the first-ever winner of the International Curriculum Association’s Teacher of the Year Award for the IMYC! Peter has embodied the spirit of the IMYC by exemplifying adaptability, communication, and leadership—core principles that align with its Big Ideas—through his unwavering dedication to championing quality and improving learning. A truly deserved title for such a dedicated educator!
