Secondary School

Welcome to Secondary School at NIS

This is our Shared Vision for NIS and shapes everything we do:

"NIS learners actively engage in shaping their own learning, continually aiming to be respectful, responsible globally-minded lifelong learners".

At North Zealand International School, we use the Cambridge Assessment International Education to provide a clear path for success for our students.  Cambridge Assessment and International Education is the world’s largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for over 10,000 schools worldwide in more than 160 countries.

The Cambridge programmes are progressive, so each stage builds on the learners’ development from the previous one.  The first stage for our secondary students is Cambridge Lower Secondary for 11-14 year olds, the second and final stage at North Zealand International School for our students is Cambridge Upper Secondary for 14-16 year olds.  Learners are examined for International GCSE’s (IGCSE) while in Upper Secondary.

As part of our curriculum, we actively develop the Cambridge learner attributes in our students so they become Confident, Responsible, Reflective, Innovative and Engaged.  When you visit our school, you will quickly see what the teachers see; Our Learners enjoy the small close knit community and demonstrate these qualities in abundance, they feel they can make mistakes and try again in this gentle environment which supports them.  Learn more about how the curriculum will help your child to embody this profile.
