Assessment
How We Support Academic Progress
Assessment at NIS is an ongoing part of learning. Throughout their time at the school, students take part in age-appropriate assessments and screenings that help us follow their academic development and identify where additional support or challenge may be beneficial.
Our approach develops alongside the student. It begins with screening and Cambridge Primary Insight in Primary School and continues with Cambridge Progression Tests and Checkpoint Tests in Secondary School. As students move towards their IGCSE examinations, assessment includes MidYIS/Yellis testing and mock examinations. Students then progress to mock and final examinations in the IB Diploma Programme.
The purpose is not simply to measure performance. Assessment helps us build a clearer picture of each student’s academic progress and provides teachers with information that can inform support and preparation throughout their education.
