Early Years
Units of learning
This year, our Early Years learners have embarked on an exciting journey of exploration, creativity, and discovery through our International Early Years Curriculum. In our unit To the Rescue!, children became heroes in their own right - investigating the roles of everyday superheroes through role play, stories, and real-life experiences. A visit from the local fire station brought their learning to life as they explored the fire engine and gear, sparking awe and deepening their understanding. The unit culminated in a joyful Exit Point, where learners proudly performed a superhero song in costumes they created themselves.
In our unit Imagine That!, children developed their artistic expression while learning about global artists and techniques. This unit encouraged our learners to become Collaborators, Thinkers, and Communicators, all personal learning goals central to the IEYC. We celebrated their work with a grand Early Years Art Gallery Grand Opening, complete with the unveiling of their art and a glass of bubbly for both children and adults.
Springtime brought another unit of learning, The Brilliant Bug Ball, a hands-on adventure into the world of minibeasts. Learners explored different species, habitats, and characteristics, developing a sense of curiosity and respect for nature. This unit was a class favorite, filled with outdoor discoveries and joyful learning.
IEYC recognition visit
A major highlight of our year was the IEYC Recognition Visit. Over two days, the visiting leader immersed herself in our setting, observing the high-quality learning experiences and strong relationships that define our approach. She praised the depth of engagement she witnessed, the enthusiasm of our learners, and the sense of community woven through everything we do. So impressed by our environment and community, she shared that she didn’t want to leave - an honor and affirmation of our commitment to excellence.
Celebrating community and connection
Beyond the classroom, we’ve cherished the opportunity to grow as a community. Our Pizza and Game Night brought learners, families, and staff together for a relaxed evening of food, fun, and connection. Another special memory was a family picnic hosted by one of our learners. It was a perfect sunny day filled with zip line adventures, trampoline giggles, chasing bubbles, and togetherness. These events strengthened our bonds and celebrated the values of respect and collaboration—both within and beyond the classroom walls.
This year has truly been a celebration of hands-on learning, curiosity, and community. We are so proud of all our young learners and the wonderful journey they’ve taken together.
